RESEARCH ASSISTANT

 

 

Charlesson, LLC / EyeCRO, LLC, an ocular pharmaceutical and contract research company is seeking highly motivated individuals for a full time Research Assistant position.  This person will be responsible for participating in a wide variety of laboratory-based activities related to molecular biology, cell biology and animal procedures.

 

Responsibilities include:  Animal handling, Animal procedures (eye drop instillation, oral gavage, blood collection, sedation, etc.), Ophthalmic microsurgery, Optokinetic tracking, Funduscopy, Electroretinography.  Bench-related responsibilities include Immunohistochemistry, Histology, Immunoblot analyses, ELISA, Electrophoresis, Protein extraction and PCR.

 

Successful candidates will have a BA/BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and at least two years of bench experience.  Knowledge of basic biochemical laboratory methods and techniques is required.  One must be proficient with MS Office applications.  Excellent organizational and time management skills, a high level of initiative, as well as careful attention to detail are essential.  The candidate must be able to work with animals.  One must have excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to manage multiple projects.  An individual with previous experience in ophthalmic research is desired.
